As per yesterday's announced cancellations, we have been able to advise the affected passengers well ahead of the day of operation due to the advance notice provided by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) and the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), with a view to minimizing the disruption to their travel plans by offering them suitable alternative options.
These cancellations were brought about due to the necessity of essential non-routine maintenance work on runway 06/24 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), which extended the normal hours of closure during the night.
We fully support the focus and effort of the airport authority in its drive to improve the infrastructure and facilities at the NAIA. The cancellations yesterday and next week have been implemented in order to minimize the possibility of creating consequential delays to a significant number of flights throughout the day.
Affected passengers from yesterday's cancellations and those for next week have been re-accommodated on the nearest available flight to their original schedule. In the event this alternative flight is not suitable, passengers are entitled to rebook flights for travel within 30 days from original departure, opt for a full refund or a travel fund.
We hope for our passengers' understanding as a result of the situation.
